Q. Can I create and manage my Smartphone contacts directly on my laptop/PC using XTop Mobile?
A.

Yes, XTop will allow you to add, delete and edit your Smartphone contacts directly on your laptop/PC.



Q. Can I use my laptop/PC mic and speakers to handle phone calls?
A.

No, at this time, XTop does not re-direct the phone audio through your laptop/PC. You can either use a compatible Bluetooth® headset or simply trigger the speakerphone function on your Smartphone to handle all calls.



Q. Can I use my XTop Mobile application on multiple computers and Smartphones?
A.

Each XTop download can be authorized on up to three computers, meaning your Smartphone can connect to three computers [ie: office, home and personal laptop]. However, you only receive one Mobile Gateway with each download, meaning you can only use one Smartphone for each download.



Q. Do I have to pay for additional upgrades?
A.

Your XTop Mobile license is not limited to a certain period of time. However, if you have downloaded the Trial version, you will be prompted to 'Upgrade to the Full Version' after the trial period has ended.

Additional Upgrades may be available in the future with added functionality. Some upgrades may be available at no-charge and others may require you to pay an Upgrade Fee.



Q. Do I need to be connected to a VPN to access my work emails using XTop?
A.

No, once you download the XTop Mobile Gateway on to your Smartphone, you will have full access to all emails [BIS and BES] directly from your laptop/PC.



Q. Does XTop Mobile support multiple email accounts?
A.

XTop can handle multiple email accounts, including BIS and BES accounts on your Smartphone. Also, once you receive an email to a specific account, XTop will automatically allow you to reply using the appropriate email address.



Q. Does XTop Mobile work offline?
A.

Yes, XTop will allow you to access information like Call Logs, historical SMS, emails and PIN chats even when you're offline [ie: your Smartphone isn't connected to your laptop/PC]. In fact, you can even create messages while offline and cache them to be sent as soon as you are connected again.



Q. Does XTop Mobile work with any Smartphone?
A. XTop Mobile currently works with all BlackBerry 8000+ Series Smartphones including; Bold 9000+, Storm, Curve 8300+ and Pearl. For optimal performance, please ensure your BlackBerry is loaded with the most up-to date Operating Systems including BOS 4.5, 4.7 or 5.0.

Q. Does XTop sync with any of the applications or programs currently on my desktop/laptop?
A.

XTop does not currently sync with any programs or folders on your desktop/laptop, however, in the future, you will be able to drag and drop files, images and even media files seamlessly from your laptop/PC to your Smartphone.



Q. How can I view attachments using my XTop Mobile?
A.

You can use XTop to download attachments embedded in your emails by simply double-clicking them [as you would on your BlackBerry]. Your attachments will be downloaded directly for viewing in the native program [Adobe™ Reader, Microsoft PowerPoint®, etc.] directly on your laptop/PC.

Ie: With XTop you can view PowerPoint® attachments that are on your Smartphone directly on your laptop/PC screen without having to connect to your VPN or any third-party WiFi Hotspots.



Q. How does the XTop Mobile Internet Browser feature work?
A.

XTop allows you to surf the internet using the data connectivity directly from BlackBerry without having to look for a third-party WiFi Hotspot. The data usage is the same as you browsing the internet directly on your BlackBerry browser. Please verify your data plan is optimized to handle this feature.



Q. How much does XTop Mobile affect my data plan?
A.

XTop Mobile leverages the connectivity directly from your BlackBerry internet browser, meaning surfing the net on XTop is just like surfing directly on your BlackBerry's browser.

Please refer to the data plan(s) provided by your Carrier for details.



Q. Is there an extra fee for all of the SMS / text messages being sent directly from my XTop Mobile?
A.

No, your XTop SMS messages are treated as if they were sent directly from your Smartphone. In fact, once you send a message from your laptop/PC using XTop, you will see it appear as if it was sent directly from your Smartphone.



Q. Is XTop Mobile secure?
A.

XTop is a secure program, with 256-Bit AES encryption across all communications between your Smartphone and your laptop/PC.



Q. My laptop/PC does not have Bluetooth® technology inside. Can I still use XTop Mobile?
A.

You can use XTop with most external Bluetooth dongles. If you are interested, please call XTop Customer Care for help to select the appropriate dongle for ultimate performance.



Q. What are the Operating requirements for XTop Mobile?
A.

Smartphone Compatibility includes BlackBerry 8000+ Series Smartphones including; Bold 9000®+, Storm®, Curve® 8300+ and Pearl®. For optimal performance, please ensure your BlackBerry is loaded with the most up-to date Operating Systems including BOS 4.5, 4.7 or 5.0.

Laptop / PC Compatibility includes Microsoft Windows™ XP®, Microsoft Windows™ Vista® and Microsoft Windows™ 7®.

Bluetooth® Compatibility includes support for most Bluetooth® enabled Laptops, Netbooks and PCs including support for WIDCOMM®, Broadcom® and Microsoft® Bluetooth® devices and/or dongles.



Q. What does the "Multi-Functional" response feature mean on my XTop Mobile?
A.

XTop allows you reply to incoming events on your Smartphone with different modes. For example, if you are in a meeting and receive an incoming call, you can simply press the 'TXT' button to reply back to the caller with a quick SMS - Hey, I'm in a meeting right now. I'll call you back later. Or, you can press the 'Schedule' button to create a calendar event to call them back later. The same applies to all incoming events including emails, calls, SMS and PIN messages.



Q. What happens when I receive an incoming event on my Smartphone [ie: SMS, incoming call, email or PIN message]?
A.

XTop provides real time notification of your Smartphone events directly on your laptop/PC screen. XTop is the only application lets you fully interact with SMS, calls, calendar events, emails and BlackBerry PIN messages in real-time, without ever having to reach for your Smartphone.



Q. What if I buy a new computer or Smartphone - will I lose my XTop Mobile license?
A.

No, simply call the XTop Mobile Customer Care team at 1.866.366-XTOP for help re-assigning your license to the new laptop/PC or Smartphone.



Q. What is XTop Mobile™?

XTop Mobile is a downloadable BlackBerry & laptop/PC application that enables you to interact and control your Smartphone's key functions such as SMS, calls, email, and calendar directly on your laptop or PC. In addition, XTop Mobile instantly and wirelessly transforms your Smartphone into a wireless modem so you can open attachments and surf the web without ever having to search for a WIFI Hotspot again.



Q. What languages does XTop Mobile currently support?

XTop Mobile is only available in English, other languages are planned for future releases.



Q. What Operating Systems are currently supported?
A.

Q. Why do I need the Mobile Gateway on my Smartphone as well?
A.

The XTop Mobile Gateway ensures the information shared between your Smartphone and laptop/PC is encrypted for security. XTop relies on 256-Bit AES encryption for all communication between your Smartphone and laptop/PC. Also, the Gateway is used to authenticate you as user each time you connect to your laptop/PC.



Q. Will my Smartphone still ring and make all of the sounds it normally does even when connected to XTop Mobile?
A.

Currently your Smartphone will continue to use the ringtones and vibrate settings even when connected to XTop. You will be able to silence incoming calls depending on how you would like to handle a call - "Answer" or "Ignore" directly off of your laptop/PC.

Future releases will allow you to change the 'Profile' on your Smartphone directly through the XTop dashboard on your laptop/PC.



Q. Will my XTop Mobile PC Client connect to other XTop Mobile Smartphones?
A.

No, your XTop requires authentication through the Mobile Gateway on the Smartphone you are connecting with.
